Red Town Recording Studio

Red Town Recording Studio is a professional recording studio based within the main building of the YMCA.

The studio has a comfortable live room, a spacious control room with a Mac Pro running Pro Tools 8 HD3 system, it can offer 192 tracks of recording (18 simultaneously).

It has a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere with very friendly, experienced staff, who are all musicians themselves.

We have a wide variety of top class microphones, including an incredible SE Electronics vocal mic and a stereo pair of C414s ideal for gorgeous acoustic guitar sounds.

We also have many software plug-ins available and a fair amount of backline equipment including Marshall, Randall and Hayden amplifiers, as well as Crate and Line 6 Bass amps. The studio has a Pearl Export EX, twin bass drums with Iron Cobra Power Glide pedals, 2 Rack toms, 2 floor toms and currently has Zildjian ZBT cymbals. The kit can easily be arranged to different styles of music e.g. from a large metal kit to a simple fusion kit.

Communication between rooms is via a talkback system from the control room to headphones in the live room. Check out our photos of the studio which will be updated regularly!
