Consett YMCA has modern hostel accommodation available all year round. It is ideal for families, groups, Schools & Colleges.

The centre has 5,6 and 7 bedded rooms, some en-suite, with separate accommodation for group leaders if required. There is a large conservatory with TV, a pool table and a small kitchen for making drinks or snacks plus a laundry facility. We can provide the hostel for groups either as self-catering or fully inclusive with breakfast, packed or buffet lunch and evening meal. All food types can be catered for providing prior notice is given.*

During your stay you may wish to take advantage of our activity programmes. This could include a variety of indoor or outdoor sports and activities.

The hostel is situated in it’s own grounds, just off the town centre which offers a variety of shops, restaurants and bars with a local Theatre/Cinema. There is parking situated directly outside of the reception area. We also offer a variety of facilities to businesses who require a venue for residential corporate activities.

The centre is ideally situated in County Durham on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines. Within easy reach are a large number of venues for education and recreational visits such as: Beamish Open Air Museum, Hadrian’s Wall, The Historic City of Durham and it’s Cathedral, The Farne Islands, Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Kielder and The Lake District. It is also approx. 100 metres from the Coast to Coast Cycle route.
